| Kutchan city is by car at one hour and a half from Sapporo. Though many sightseers come, there are specially many skiing guests of winter, and the best quality of snow is said in the world. A sightseer much from Australia comes recently. There is a skiing ground of the Australian capital, too. The inhabitant of Kutchan city that it was internationalized accepts the company of the world without losing tradition until now. Regardless of the little thing, the Kutchan Rotary Club specially makes friends with all. Reclamation of Kutchan started in 1892. People in this town have lived at the foot of Mt. Youtei, "Ezo Fuji" (the Fuji of Hokkaido), for over 100 years. The mountain has been our guardian. The Niseko Range, with mountains over 1.000 m high, changes to green, red, and white, by season. There are alpine plants designated as natural treasures by the government, and many wild animals and birds in the Mt. Yotei area. For a moment we feel nature close at hand: fields spreading themselves not far from the town, crops growing bountifully there, pure water and fresh air, and scents carried by the wind from the woods. As for the rotary movement, the friendship that it was united in the Rotary Club becomes the foundation of all the activities. Take care of friendship to take the club for which to be fuller of friendship and which is easier to enjoy. If friendship is deepened, the percentage of attendance improves. If attendance improves, rotary information filters. When information is introduced, understanding to the rotary is deepened, and voluntary service becomes active. Friendship increases when voluntary service becomes popular. Then, the percentage of attendance improves.Our club always tries club activities with the charm that a membership can participate. |
